Here's what happened at security today.

TSA officer, to me: "Uh, that... your cane, we'll need to run it through the scanner."
Me: Okay.
TSA Officer (turning immediately to elsmi): "Can she walk unassisted?"

I'll... just leave that there. Cause yes, this really happened, really happens, is a really common sort of ableist microaggression.

Anyway one thing this means is that we really are at LAX and all the packing etc happened. Opting out of the backscatter (they have backscatters for EVERYBODY here) took the last of my spoons, but I shouldn't need to brain much now anyway; and I have books on the ereader, so I'm good to go.
