Clarkesworld newbie-writer interview
over here. It features awesome people like nojojojo (Who also has a story, Non-zero Probabilities" up at Clarkesworld! Go read it! But don't spoiler it here! I need brain to read) and glvalentine, and also, er, me.

I have the dubious honor of being the noobiest noob in the group by, as far as I can tell, a long way. Also I suspect I sound like a twit. But y'know, I'm constitutionally incapable of leaving a question unanswered.

*hides under the table now*

Let me be the first of many to say that you do not, in fact, sound like a twit at all?

By the way, congrats on the interview, Emerging Writer! : )

Aw thank you :) I do in my ears though.

I read that last night. Enjoyed your answers. Congrats! :-)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
I suspect I'm going to feel like a complete twit anytime something like this comes out. I'm much happier letting my stories talk for me than trying to talk for my stories, if that makes any sense at all...

I did. And linked to it as well. Angela Slatter's another on my flist.

Oh, I never told you this, but right after we added each other last week and chatted on your "About this journal" entry, I made one up for myself at the top of my LJ. Thanks for the idea. :-)

She seems extremely cool! In fact, I am rather daunted by the amounts of cool represented there.

Cool! I yoinked it from a couple people myself, so can take no credit, but I'm glad it's a helpful idea :)

Oh, come on. You do NOT sound like a twit.

I thought the interview and the answers were interesting. I sure hope you get your multi-book deal, your Tiptree award, your electrode headset telepathic computer interface, and of course, your hypoallergenic pony. :)

I do! At least, I do to me.
And thank you :)

You said smart stuff!

I swear, that was on accident.

*sheepish grin*
This is just how the social anxiety is manifesting, I think. That and knowing my head was fuzzy from allergies and trying to think through that -- which is actually a lot of what triggers the social anxiety, the gap between what I mean and how I come across.

Very cool interview!

Wonderful stuff, all of it, I loved what you said, and now I so want to get you a hypoallergenic pony.
shweta_narayan: mangatarshweta_narayan on September 10th, 2009 02:30 am (UTC)
Thank you! I think the hypoallergenic pony is about as likely as the rest :)

Hi Shweta,
Congrats on being included in the interview. That's some fine company to keep!

I wouldn't worry too much about any one thing... I'll just say that having written "One For Sorrow" entitles you to feel a certain amount of bad-ass awesomeness. In my opinion, at least.

just saying...
shweta_narayanshweta_narayan on September 10th, 2009 02:39 am (UTC)
Thanks! I agree, it's wonderful company to be in. Don't think I've earned it yet, though...

I'm thrilled that you like One For Sorrow! I basically wrote it with multiple dictionaries open, and a political speech in both English and Scots, as well as my memories of Aberdeen. I cannot, however, read it out loud now. My Aberdonian accent has gone all American.
