9 things about oracles
Thanks to papersky , who wrote the first post, and elisem , who made the pendant that inspired said post and got me thinking in threads and webs.

Random comment:  there is sort of tarot major arcana allusion running through this, though section I  is more of a 0 than a I.   It wasn't really conscious, and I may be the only person who sees it...

Nine things about oracles

She isn't your sister
your mother
your girl
The oracle is not yours

Nor is she hers

Time threads
hope threads
kin bonds

To see one, she cuts the others away.

Well, why did you think she lives alone?

Yes. She lives alone.
Yes, she lives

You don't hear her
in shuffled cards
In rattled chips of slate or ash
or fingerbone
in smoke
Not even in that clear-eyed goodbye
before the accident
These are echoes

Her fingers, questing, pluck at threads
wound tight

Her shadow falls
into words

I hope you don't mind a belated comment but I thought your poem was lovely. seabhac_mohr pointed me to papersky's post and I couldn't not say anything.
